Rye Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup

Long before Europeans arrived on these shores, Indigenous people harvested sap from maple trees in a process largely unchanged to this day. Recently, our friends at Finding Home Farms thought that aging their maple syrup in rye barrels would add a “most perfect flavor” to their already pretty perfect syrup. Your Sunday morning pancake breakfast will never be the same. Even better, the barrels are reused again to make maple rye whisky. Pure maple genius.
