Plimoth Patuxet Cranberry Jam
With Massachusetts being the second-largest cranberry producer in the country, you'll find no shortage of cranberry goods around here, and our shop is no exception! Quick history lesson: In 17th-century Patuxet/Plimoth, the Wampanoag had long been harvesting the ibimi(cranberry) plants which grew wild in the area. When the colonists saw the pink-white ibimi flowers, the shape reminded them of the neck, head and beak of a common European bird, the crane. Because of this, the settlers began to call ibimi by another name: "crane-berry", which was over time shortened to cranberry.
Spread on toast or paired with cheese and crackers, our Cranberry Jam is sure to be a fall favorite. Each small batch is hand-stirred with a wooden paddle in a 75 gallon kettle. Made with 100% pure cane sugar. No artificial flavors or ingredients. You can taste the difference in this jam simply because it's all-natural and made the old-fashioned way since 1955!
